Young people and families

Training for young people arranged with the involvement of a parent or guardian, with clear boundaries about consent, communication and scope.

Who it is forFamilies considering neurofeedback for a young person.

In detail

Work with a young person is set up so that they understand what is happening and can say no. Assent from the young person matters alongside consent from a parent or guardian.

We ask families to keep their existing health professionals involved. Neurofeedback training is not a replacement for education support, therapy, paediatric care or anything already in place.

We do not make claims about school performance, behaviour or any diagnosed condition, and we will not describe training as a treatment for one.

What this covers

  • An age-appropriate explanation before anything begins
  • Agreed arrangements for what is shared with parents or guardians
  • Coordination with existing professionals, with permission

What it does not include

  • Claims about academic results or behaviour
  • Work that displaces existing clinical care

If this is the part you want to ask about, mention it in your request.
